First off, Happy Birthday to my favorite elder! Happy birthday Elder Sundell! Love you, dad!
Not a ton new since Thursday, but we have had a few really sweet miracles in the past few days. We got a couple return appointments last night with some really great people that we are excited about!
Since I don't have anything big, I'll just share what our day yesterday was like- so you can have a feel of our days.
-We had district conference yesterday in American branch which was streamed from Okinawa. Kaicho spoke and did an amazing job! We have the greatest mission president, and he loves his missionaries SO much. So so much. And we love him.
-The elders are teaching a husband and wife right now that are literally going to get baptized three weeks after first meeting with the missionaries! They love everything about the gospel and it's so incredible seeing their progression and amazing future.
-We got to sing the efy medley in Japanese in the Japanese branch yesterday and it was very special. We sand with a couple youth and our branch president. I love this branch!
-We were walking around near a strip mall last night and it was cold. But, we found a magic little telephone-booth looking thing that had a heater in it! So we went inside it and prayed before we went off to dendo. Little miracles :)
-Talked to a couple with a little 2 yr old baby that we bent down to talk to and he started BAWLING! He was no happy about the random American talking to him! His parents laughed and picked him up and we had a good long talk with them about the gospel. We gave the boy a sticker and he calmed down. As they walked away the little boy turned around and waved to us! He ended up liking us.
-We got to watch the new Christmas video! Such a good example of how to follow Christ's example in our daily deeds. Check it out!
-There's a cute crepe restaurant next to the train station and we made friend with the owner a couple weeks ago. As we walked by yesterday his little 1 yr old daughter and wife were there and we got to meet them and say hi! It's the best feeling having small relationships with random people here. Make it feel like home. We are also friends with the cashier at the grocery store we shop at and the cashier at the nearest 7/11. I love those simple friendships!
Those were just some of the things we wrote down last night that we were thankful for. I came home last night and was so exhausted and sort of grouchy, but as soon as we started listing off the miracles and tender mercies we saw, my frustrations melted away and my heart was filled with thankfulness. There are so many blessings in each of our days if we take time to recognize them!

Love you all!
All my love, Sundell Shimai

Dinner with two sweet girls we met a couple weeks ago! They're here studying engineering and are angels
