Holyyyyyy smokesssss. We just got transfer calls.. And
I'm going to sasebo! There is a base there also, but there's a Japanese ward
too, so I'll be going to church in English and Japanese now! My new companion
is Jorgensen Shimai and we will be sister training leaders together. I've heard
so many incredible things about her so I'm stoked to get to work with her!
Rewarding moment of the week: we got a text from our
investigator saying that her five year old daughter asked if she could pray and
prayed for her little brother and his health. We were all so excited because
she had never prayed before or wanted to! But thanks to the ward members
incredible examples, and her moms diligence in praying, it has started to rub
off on her! I feel like I can't ever explain myself through the emails and that
I never make sense, so sorry that didn't make any sense.
We met a cute family housing last week that came to
eikaiwa, and then we got to go over to their home and teach them half English
half gospel. So for the gospel portion we taught them how to pray. We drew a
cute prayer hamburger and talked about all the stuff you can pray about and it
was so fun. Teaching people how to pray, and that they can converse with their
Heavenly Father is my favorite thing. They all prayed at the end of the lesson
and it was so sweet. Teaching children is my favorite.
I'm sad to be leaving iwakuni and my comp mcnaughton
Shimai. I've grown to love this area so much, and have made so many lifelong
friendships that I'm forever thankful for. I've gotten to work with incredible
people here, and am so excited for the new adventures and experiences in
sasebo!
I was reading from conference talks earlier this week and
wanted to share this simple quote from elder packer: "The Atonement, which
can reclaim each one of us, bears no scars."
I know that is true. I love you all!
All my love, Sundell ShimaiCute boys we taught |
Went to the famous "chicken shack" with some members this week, |
My best friend Naoko came to church for my last Sunday. |
It was our cute mission leader's birthday yesterday so we took him out to lunch! And he spilled on himself. |
