Nothing too out of the
ordinary to report about this week. I do want to brag about how incredible this Iwakuni military branch is. We had a BBQ this Saturday for 24th of July and
some of our less actives and investigators came! It was amazing! The ward members
talked to and became friends with each of them and made them all feel so loved
and welcomed. Everyone is always going out of their way to make our
investigators feel welcomed. This ward has top notch dendo Fire! Our miracle
investigator from Eikaiwa came to church yesterday! She stayed for about an
hour and a half and even stuck through my very rough translating in sacrament
meeting!
Miracle! She was very touched by the stories from the Book of Mormon
that the talks were about and it was so cool seeing her love being at church.
Big things to come with her!
We had a whopping two
return appointments this week, and both have since completely fell through. I
sometimes feel like I'm living Mr. Incredible's life from the movie "The
Incredibles". You know when he's looking at the computer screen of the list of
all the supers and as it goes through a big red 'TERMINATED' or 'LOCATION
UNKNOWN' stamp pop over their face? That's how our list of potential
investigation has been lookin lately, either being turned down by people or
have no clue where they disappeared to.
But despite all that
we still see miracles every day, be they small or big. I'm more thankful
for this gospel every day and am thankful for the variety of learning
experiences missions have to offer, if we just let them change us for the
better.
till next week!
All my love, Sundell
Shimai
